KWAZULU-NATAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA VACANCY: TUTTI DOUBLE BASS (1 position)

TUTTI DOUBLE BASS AUDITION LIST:

All candidates auditioning for the KZN Philharmonic are required to prepare sections A and B as given below

Section A:
One movement of a concerto of your own choice.

Section B:
Excerpts from Orchestral Repertoire

- Smetana:
Overture: the bartered bride; from the beginning to 5 bars after letter "A"
- Beethoven:
Symphony no.5 – 3rd mvt; from the beginning to 5 bars after "A", and the trio up to 23 bars after "B"
- R. Strauss:
Don Juan: from 7 bars after letter "O" to 5 bars before "T"
- Mozart:
Symphony no. 40 – 1st mvt; from 20 bars before "C" to 5 bars after "C", and from 32 bars after letter "D" to letter "E"
- Britten:
Young Person’s Guide: double bass variation

OVERSEAS CANDIDATES:
